A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
1- 1 To amend an Act providing for the board of education for the
1- 2 Macon County School District, approved March 27, 1985 (Ga.
1- 3 L. 1985, p. 4112), as amended, so as to change the
1- 4 provisions relating to the compensation of members of the
1- 5 board of education; to provide an effective date; to repeal
1- 6 conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
1- 7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
1- 8 SECTION 1.
1- 9 An Act providing for the board of education for the Macon
1-10 County School District, approved March 27, 1985 (Ga. L.
1-11 1985, p. 4112), as amended, is amended by striking Section 4
1-12 in its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof a new Section
1-13 4 to read as follows:
1-14 Each member of the Board of Education of Macon County
1-15 shall be compensated in the amount of $200.00 for each day
1-16 of attendance at meetings of the board and while meeting
1-17 and traveling within or outside the state as a member of a
1-18 committee of the board on official business first
1-19 authorized by a majority of the board. In addition, each
1-20 member of the board shall be entitled to reimbursement for
1-21 actual expenses necessarily incurred in connection with
1-22 travel outside Macon County on official business of the
1-23 board of education, including, but not limited to,
1-24 attending training sessions or state-wide meetings;
1-25 provided, however, that such travel is authorized by a
1-26 majority vote of the members of the board of education
1-27 prior thereto. All expenses shall be approved and verified
1-28 prior to reimbursement in such manner as may be specified
1-29 by the board."
1-30 SECTION 2.
1-31 This Act shall become effective upon its approval by the
1-32 Governor or upon its becoming law without such approval.

2- 2 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
2- 3 repealed.
