                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending the 4-H Clubs of Georgia, recognizing the 
  1- 2  observance of 4-H Day at the state capitol, and inviting Dr. 
  1- 3  Roger C. (Bo) Ryles to appear before the House of 
  1- 4  Representatives; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 5  WHEREAS, 4-H provides a unique educational opportunity for 
  1- 6  students from nine to 19 years of age to learn valuable 
  1- 7  lessons outside the classroom and offers some 55 areas in 
  1- 8  which students can compete with one another for college 
  1- 9  scholarships; and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, Georgia's 4-H programs are coordinated by the 
  1-11  Cooperative Extension Service of the University of Georgia 
  1-12  College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and this 
  1-13  service is the major university outreach program focusing on 
  1-14  the youth of this state; and 
 
  1-15  WHEREAS, Dr. Roger C. (Bo) Ryles of the Cooperative 
  1-16  Extension Service has worked diligently with the 4-H Clubs 
  1-17  throughout Georgia during his tenure as State 4-H Club 
  1-18  leader; 
 
  1-19  WHEREAS, the 1998 Georgia delegates to the National 4-H 
  1-20  Conference, the 1998-1999 District 4-H Presidents, the 
  1-21  1998-1999 State 4-H President, and the National 4-H 
  1-22  Scholarship Winner distinguished themselves through their 
  1-23  personal accomplishments and  deserve special attention and 
  1-24  praise; and 
 
  1-25  WHEREAS, these young men and women are outstanding 
  1-26  representatives of the dynamic resource this state has in 
  1-27  its young people. 
 
  1-28  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-29  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and 
  1-30  commend the 1998 Georgia delegates to the National 4-H 
  1-31  Conference, the 1998-1999 District 4-H Presidents, the 
  1-32  1998-1999 State 4-H President, and the National 4-H 
  1-33  Scholarship Winner and express to them their best wishes in 
  1-34  their future endeavors. 
 
  1-35  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this body shall observe Tuesday, 
  1-36  February 2, 1999, as 4-H Day at the state capitol.

  2- 1  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Dr. Roger C. (Bo) Ryles is 
  2- 2  invited to appear before the House of Representatives on 
  2- 3  Tuesday, February 2, 1999, at a time to be designated by the 
  2- 4  Speaker of the House of Representatives. 
 
  2- 5  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  2- 6  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  2- 7  appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Roger C. (Bo)
