                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Compensating Mr. Raymond Woody; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 2  WHEREAS, on January 6, 1999, Mr. Raymond Woody, a resident 
  1- 3  of Lula, Georgia, was operating his 1994 Pontiac automobile 
  1- 4  while traveling west on Georgia Highway 52 in the City of 
  1- 5  Lula; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, a truck belonging to the Department of 
  1- 7  Transportation and being operated by one of its employees 
  1- 8  was spreading gravel along the roadway as it traveled east 
  1- 9  on Georgia Highway 52 in the City of Lula; and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, as the Department of Transportation truck passed 
  1-11  Mr. Woody's automobile, it slung a substantial amount of 
  1-12  gravel against Mr. Woody's vehicle causing damage to the 
  1-13  top, front hood, windshield, and left side of the 
  1-14  automobile; and 
 
  1-15  WHEREAS, Mr. Woody suffered unreimbursed property damage to 
  1-16  his automobile in the amount of $1,812.91; and 
 
  1-17  WHEREAS, the loss occurred through no fault or negligence on 
  1-18  the part of Mr. Woody, and it is only fitting and proper 
  1-19  that he be compensated for his loss. 
 
  1-20  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF 
  1-21  GEORGIA that the Department of Transportation is authorized 
  1-22  and directed to pay the sum of $1,812.91 to Mr. Raymond 
  1-23  Woody as compensation as provided above. Said sum shall be 
  1-24  paid from funds appropriated to or available to said 
  1-25  department and shall be in full and complete satisfaction of 
  1-26  all claims against the state arising out of said occurrence.
