                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Recognizing and commending Elizabeth Martin; and for other 
  1- 2  purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, 4-H Clubs of Georgia provide a unique educational 
  1- 4  opportunity for students from nine to 19 years of age to 
  1- 5  learn valuable lessons outside the classroom and offer some 
  1- 6  55 project areas in which students can develop expertise and 
  1- 7  compete with one another; and 
 
  1- 8  WHEREAS, Georgia's 4-H programs are coordinated by the 
  1- 9  Cooperative Extension Service of the University of Georgia 
  1-10  College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and this 
  1-11  service is the major university outreach program focusing on 
  1-12  the youth of this state; and 
 
  1-13  WHEREAS, Elizabeth Martin of Tift County is an outstanding 
  1-14  member of 4-H and is the recipient of a prestigious 1998 
  1-15  National 4-H Scholarship as the winner in the Fashion Review 
  1-16  Project at the 1998 National 4-H Congress; and 
 
  1-17  WHEREAS, the 1998 National 4-H Congress was held in Atlanta, 
  1-18  Georgia for the first time in 4-H's 97 year history; and 
 
  1-19  WHEREAS, Elizabeth Martin is an outstanding representative 
  1-20  of the dynamic resource this state has in its young people. 
 
  1-21  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-22  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and 
  1-23  commend Elizabeth Martin on her outstanding accomplishments 
  1-24  as the recipient of a prestigious 1998 National 4-H 
  1-25  Scholarship and winning the Fashion Review Project at the 
  1-26  1998 National 4-H Congress and for her exceptional 
  1-27  dedication to the principles of 4-H programs. 
 
  1-28  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-29  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-30  appropriate copy of this resolution to Elizabeth Martin.
