                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending VidyaMargaret Anegundi; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 2  WHEREAS, VidyaMargaret Anegundi is the daughter of Dr. 
  1- 3  Sudhindra Anegundi, M.D. and Cathalene Teahan, R.N., M.S.N.; 
  1- 4  and 
 
  1- 5  WHEREAS, she is a senior at Woodward Academy, College Park, 
  1- 6  Georgia, where she is a member of the National Honor Society 
  1- 7  and is graduating with honors; and 
 
  1- 8  WHEREAS, Ms. Anegundi is one of Georgia's top honorees in 
  1- 9  the 2000 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Program, a 
  1-10  state-wide program recognizing outstanding teenage 
  1-11  volunteers and role models; and 
 
  1-12  WHEREAS, she organized and ran a medical and dental clinic 
  1-13  in India at the Chicksandra Village School in the summer of 
  1-14  1999, for which she received the Girl Scout Gold Award, the 
  1-15  highest honor awarded by this organization; and 
 
  1-16  WHEREAS, she coordinated the services of 30 doctors and 
  1-17  dentists associated with the Ramaiah College and the Brahman 
  1-18  Society who ministered to the needs of more than 350 
  1-19  villagers from neighboring areas who came to the clinic to 
  1-20  receive medical and dental care; and 
 
  1-21  WHEREAS, as a result of her efforts, a permanent clinic 
  1-22  staffed by volunteer doctors and dentists will be 
  1-23  established in Chicksandra, India, and it will be named The 
  1-24  Anegundi Clinic. 
 
  1-25  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-26  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend 
  1-27  VidyaMargaret Anegundi for all of her accomplishments and 
  1-28  her contributions to her community. 
 
  1-29  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-30  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-31  appropriate copy of this resolution to VidyaMargaret
