                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Mark Blanton; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 2  WHEREAS, Mark Blanton of Greensboro, Georgia, was named 
  1- 3  Small Business of the Year by the Greene County Chamber of 
  1- 4  Commerce for the Year 2000; and 
 
  1- 5  WHEREAS, he is the proud owner of Greensboro Jewelers, a 
  1- 6  prominent business leader, and valuable employer in the 
  1- 7  downtown business district that offers quality and courteous 
  1- 8  service to all customers and attracts a healthy interest in 
  1- 9  this commercial center and its surrounding area; and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, he has served with dedication and ability as a 
  1-11  member of the Downtown Development Authority and on the 
  1-12  Better Hometown Marketing Committee, and his well-considered 
  1-13  contributions to discussions on complex business issues have 
  1-14  been greatly appreciated; and 
 
  1-15  WHEREAS, in addition to his innovative leadership within the 
  1-16  business community, he has been an involved and influential 
  1-17  member of the community at large; and 
 
  1-18  WHEREAS, his generous contribution of his time, talent, and 
  1-19  energy in public service has strengthened Greene County and 
  1-20  deserves appropriate recognition. 
 
  1-21  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-22  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize Mark 
  1-23  Blanton as the recipient of the Greene County Chamber of 
  1-24  Commerce Small Business of the Year award and convey to him 
  1-25  their admiration and appreciation of his public service. 
 
  1-26  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-27  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
