                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Recognizing and commending Sarah Freshour; and for other 
  1- 2  purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, Sarah Freshour has served with the utmost ability 
  1- 4  and dedication as a classroom teacher in the Cobb County 
  1- 5  School System for more than 22 years; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, she received her teaching degree at Western 
  1- 7  Carolina University and began to teach in 1960, serving as a 
  1- 8  kindergarten and elementary school teacher; and 
 
  1- 9  WHEREAS, she has taught kindergarten at Murdock Elementary 
  1-10  School with her paraprofessional, Barbara Olson, for the 
  1-11  past 15 years; and 
 
  1-12  WHEREAS, she has a marvelous reputation as an effective and 
  1-13  devoted public school teacher who believes "if a child 
  1-14  cannot learn the way you teach, then teach the way he will 
  1-15  learn"; and 
 
  1-16  WHEREAS, in recognition of her outstanding capability, she 
  1-17  served on the social studies curriculum advisory board to 
  1-18  educate students about the Olympics, and she has been a 
  1-19  member of the Denealian committee and the textbook committee 
  1-20  for science and social studies; and 
 
  1-21  WHEREAS, this remarkable teacher has shaped the learning and 
  1-22  the lives of students for more than 30 years, and her 
  1-23  commitment and public service deserve the highest praise. 
 
  1-24  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-25  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and 
  1-26  commend Sarah Freshour for her exemplary career in public 
  1-27  education and convey to her their admiration and best wishes 
  1-28  for health and happiness in her retirement. 
 
  1-29  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-30  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-31  appropriate copy of this resolution to Sarah Freshour.
