                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Allison Olmstead Taylor, the 1998 Henry County 
  1- 2  STAR Teacher; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, a proper quality education for the young people of 
  1- 4  this state is the single most important objective of the 
  1- 5  General Assembly; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, dedication and diligence by committed teachers 
  1- 7  fosters excellence in education; and 
 
  1- 8  WHEREAS, the annual STAR Teacher Awards are sponsored by the 
  1- 9  Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Professional Association 
  1-10  of Georgia Educators in recognition of teaching excellence; 
  1-11  and 
 
  1-12  WHEREAS, Allison Olmstead Taylor was selected as the 1998 
  1-13  Henry County STAR Teacher because of her challenging and 
  1-14  creative methods of teaching ninth and tenth grade English 
  1-15  students at Stockbridge High School and her dedication to 
  1-16  her students, as demonstrated by her work as BETA Club 
  1-17  sponsor and coach of the Academic Team; and 
 
  1-18  WHEREAS, Allison Olmstead Taylor is an exceptionally well 
  1-19  qualified teacher, having earned a Bachelor's degree in 
  1-20  English from Oglethorpe University and a Master's degree in 
  1-21  English from Georgia State University; and 
 
  1-22  WHEREAS, in recognition of her contributions to the 
  1-23  education and welfare of young people in this state, it is 
  1-24  abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the 
  1-25  extraordinary accomplishments and academic achievements of 
  1-26  Allison Olmstead Taylor. 
 
  1-27  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-28  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend 
  1-29  heartily Allison Olmstead Taylor, the 1998 Henry County STAR 
  1-30  Teacher, and express to her their sincerest best wishes and 
  1-31  confidence in her continued success in the future. 
 
  1-32  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-33  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-34  appropriate copy of this resolution to Allison Olmstead
