                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Jim Dove, Executive Director of the Northeast 
  1- 2  Georgia Regional Development Center; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, Jim Dove earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in 
  1- 4  Education and a Master's Degree in Public Administration 
  1- 5  from the University of Georgia; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, he provided valuable service to the Northeast 
  1- 7  Georgia Area Planning and Development Commission in eight 
  1- 8  positions before becoming the Executive Director on October 
  1- 9  1, 1987; and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, his vision and leadership as Executive Director 
  1-11  have been vital in expanding the membership of the Regional 
  1-12  Development Center from ten counties and 47 cities to 12 
  1-13  counties and 54 cities; and 
 
  1-14  WHEREAS, he is well known for going above and beyond the 
  1-15  call of duty in continuously improving the quality of 
  1-16  service the RDC provides to members; and 
 
  1-17  WHEREAS, he has a distinguished record of leadership in 
  1-18  community organizations, serving as  a charter member of the 
  1-19  American Planning Association and Leadership Athens, past 
  1-20  chairman of the Southeast Regional Director's Institute, 
  1-21  former District Chairman of the American Heart Association, 
  1-22  and chairman of the Northeast Georgia Emergency Medical 
  1-23  Services Council; and 
 
  1-24  WHEREAS, he and his wife Nancy have a cherished daughter, 
  1-25  Jameson Glyn, born in 1991. 
 
  1-26  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-27  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Jim 
  1-28  Dove for his outstanding vision, leadership, and service to 
  1-29  the members of the Northeast Georgia Regional Development 
  1-30  Center and to his community. 
 
  1-31  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-32  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-33  appropriate copy of this resolution to Jim Dove.
