                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Hazel Robertson Walters; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 2  WHEREAS, Hazel Robertson Walters is well known to the 
  1- 3  citizens of Hart County, Georgia, where she has served as a 
  1- 4  Veterans Benefits Counselor for the Georgia Department of 
  1- 5  Veterans Service for more than 33 years; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, she is a native of Hart County who began serving 
  1- 7  veterans and their families June 15, 1966, when there were 
  1- 8  still a few World War I veterans in addition to the many 
  1- 9  veterans of World War II and the Korean conflict; and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, in recognition of the importance of securing 
  1-11  veterans benefits for service personnel and their families, 
  1-12  her office has remained in the courthouse; and 
 
  1-13  WHEREAS, throughout her more than three decades of service, 
  1-14  she has demonstrated the utmost concern and compassion for 
  1-15  veterans and responded resourcefully and capably to ensure 
  1-16  that any and all benefits are obtained for veterans and 
  1-17  their dependents; and 
 
  1-18  WHEREAS, in addition to her diligent public service, she has 
  1-19  been an active member of various civic organizations, 
  1-20  including the Hart County chapter of Habitat for Humanity, 
  1-21  and a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of 
  1-22  Hartwell. 
 
  1-23  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-24  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and 
  1-25  commend Hazel Robertson Walters for her dedicated career 
  1-26  with the Georgia Department of Veterans Service and convey 
  1-27  to her their deep admiration and appreciation of her public 
  1-28  service. 
 
  1-29  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-30  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-31  appropriate copy of this resolution to Hazel Robertson
