                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Joseph Eubee Ahn as Hart County High School's 
  1- 2  STAR student and Barbara Rousey as his STAR teacher; and for 
  1- 3  other purposes. 
 
  1- 4  WHEREAS, Joseph Eubee Ahn is Hart County High School's STAR 
  1- 5  student for 2000, and he has selected Barbara Rousey as his 
  1- 6  STAR teacher in recognition of her contribution to his 
  1- 7  academic success; and 
 
  1- 8  WHEREAS, the criteria for STAR title include scores on the 
  1- 9  College Board Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and scholastic 
  1-10  averages as reported by high school principals; and 
 
  1-11  WHEREAS, the STAR program is coordinated locally by the Hart 
  1-12  County Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by three local 
  1-13  civic clubs: the Hartwell Rotary Club, the Hartwell Kiwanis 
  1-14  Club, and the Hartwell Service League; and 
 
  1-15  WHEREAS, Eubee has an outstanding academic record, is on the 
  1-16  student newspaper staff, received the Bausch & Lomb award in 
  1-17  science, is jointly enrolled at Emmanuel College, has been 
  1-18  admitted to Emory University, and is an accomplished 
  1-19  musician who teaches violin to children at his church; and 
 
  1-20  WHEREAS, Barbara Rousey is a dedicated teacher who has been 
  1-21  on the faculty nine years, teaches English to eleventh-grade 
  1-22  honors students and senior college preparatory students, and 
  1-23  is the faculty adviser for the school newspaper. 
 
  1-24  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-25  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate 
  1-26  Joseph Eubee Ahn as the Hart County High School STAR student 
  1-27  for 2000 and Barbara Rousey as his STAR teacher and convey 
  1-28  to them their best wishes for continued success. 
 
  1-29  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-30  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit 
  1-31  appropriate copies of this resolution to Joseph Eubee Ahn
