                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Expressing regrets at the passing of Gwendolyn M. Crim; and 
  1- 2  for other purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, Gwendolyn M. Crim was born in Chicago, Illinois, 
  1- 4  and was a graduate of Lindbloom Technical High School; and 
 
  1- 5  WHEREAS, Professor Crim received her Bachelor of Science 
  1- 6  degree from George Williams College, her Master of Arts 
  1- 7  degree from California State University, and her Master of 
  1- 8  Education degree from Georgia State University; and 
 
  1- 9  WHEREAS, she was an extraordinary teacher and administrator 
  1-10  in the Chicago, Illinois, and Compton, California, public 
  1-11  school systems; and 
 
  1-12  WHEREAS, Professor Crim was one of the original faculty 
  1-13  members of Atlanta Metropolitan College where she taught 
  1-14  physical education; and 
 
  1-15  WHEREAS, Gwendolyn was an outstanding community and civic 
  1-16  leader in Compton, California, and served on the Board of 
  1-17  Directors of the Compton Civic Symphony Association and the 
  1-18  Welfare Planning Council; and 
 
  1-19  WHEREAS, she gave thousands of hours of service to the youth 
  1-20  and families of Atlanta as a member of the Southwest 
  1-21  District Metro Atlanta YMCA Board of Directors during almost 
  1-22  two decades of service in the 1980s and 1990s, particularly 
  1-23  as a leader of the Partners with Youth Campaign; and 
 
  1-24  WHEREAS, Gwendolyn was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma 
  1-25  and the Honor Society for Women Educators; and 
 
  1-26  WHEREAS, she was married to Dr. Alonzo Crim and they were 
  1-27  the parents of three wonderful children, Timothy, Susan, and 
  1-28  Sharon; and 
 
  1-29  WHEREAS, she recently passed to a better place, and her loss 
  1-30  will be acutely felt by her friends and family and indeed 
  1-31  the education community and the entire state. 
 
  1-32  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-33  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body extend their

  2- 1  condolences to the husband and children of Gwendolyn M. Crim 
  2- 2  upon the passing of their beloved wife and mother. 
 
  2- 3  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  2- 4  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit 
  2- 5  appropriate copies of this resolution to Dr. Alonzo Crim and
