                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Recognizing and commending the establishment of the Jack 
  1- 2  Vaughan, Jr., Student Scholarship awarded by Chattahoochee 
  1- 3  Tech Foundation as a memorial to the dedication of Honorable 
  1- 4  Jack Vaughan, Jr.; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 5  WHEREAS, the Honorable Jack Vaughan, Jr., provided dedicated 
  1- 6  service as the Representative of the 34th District in the 
  1- 7  House of Representatives from 1989 until his untimely death 
  1- 8  in 1994; and 
 
  1- 9  WHEREAS, the Honorable Jack Vaughan, Jr., will be remembered 
  1-10  by his colleagues in the General Assembly and by his 
  1-11  constituents in Cobb County as a dedicated advocate for 
  1-12  better education for all citizens of Cobb County and the 
  1-13  State of Georgia; and 
 
  1-14  WHEREAS, schools and other buildings in Cobb County have 
  1-15  been named in honor of Mr. Vaughan to recognize his many 
  1-16  outstanding efforts on behalf of education; and 
 
  1-17  WHEREAS, the Honorable Jack Vaughan, Jr., had a vested 
  1-18  interest in the Cobb Education Consortium and presented a 
  1-19  resolution to the Georgia General Assembly recognizing the 
  1-20  consortium for its work and diligence in providing a forum 
  1-21  for the six Cobb County public education entities, thereby 
  1-22  allowing the consortium to collaborate and to provide a 
  1-23  seamless web of transferability for all Cobb County 
  1-24  students; and 
 
  1-25  WHEREAS, the Honorable Jack Vaughan, Jr., was respected by 
  1-26  all who knew him for his dedication, integrity, and courage, 
  1-27  and he relished his role as a member of the General 
  1-28  Assembly; and 
 
  1-29  WHEREAS, to further honor Mr. Vaughan, a student scholarship 
  1-30  has been established by the Chattahoochee Tech Foundation. 
 
  1-31  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-32  REPRESENTATIVES that the Honorable Jack Vaughan, Jr., will 
  1-33  forever be remembered by the members of this body as a 
  1-34  servant of the people and will be memorialized for his warm 
  1-35  and caring nature as he conducted the business of the state.

  2- 1  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this body 
  2- 2  recognize and commend the establishment of the Jack Vaughan, 
  2- 3  Jr., Student Scholarship awarded by the Chattahoochee Tech 
  2- 4  Foundation as a memorial to the dedication of Jack Vaughan, 
  2- 5  Jr. 
 
  2- 6  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  2- 7  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit 
  2- 8  appropriate copies of this resolution to the family of 
  2- 9  Honorable Jack Vaughan, Jr., and to the Chattahoochee Tech
