A RESOLUTION
1- 1 Expressing regret at the passing of Wilson Scott III; and
1- 2 for other purposes.
1- 3 WHEREAS, Wilson Scott III will be long remembered by his
1- 4 circle of friends and family who loved and admired this
1- 5 talented young man; and
1- 6 WHEREAS, he was born on October 15, 1978, in Savannah,
1- 7 Georgia, to the Reverend Dr. and Mrs. Wilson Scott, Jr.;
1- 8 and
1- 9 WHEREAS, he graduated from Benedictine Military Academy and
1-10 was a junior at Savannah State University where he was
1-11 completing his B.A. degree in computer information systems
1-12 and was employed as an office assistant at the Jewish
1-13 Education Alliance; and
1-14 WHEREAS, he had joined the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist
1-15 Church in September, 1999, under the pastoral leadership of
1-16 his father, and he was a Junior Deacon; and
1-17 WHEREAS, he was a spiritual mentor and a significant role
1-18 model to many youth in the community who valued his counsel
1-19 and concern for their personal welfare; and
1-20 WHEREAS, his community leadership and commitment earned him
1-21 the respect and appreciation of those who have known him and
1-22 will cherish his memory forever.
1-23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
1-24 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body express regret
1-25 at the passing of Wilson Scott III and convey their sympathy
1-26 to the members of his family.
1-27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of
1-28 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
1-29 appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Wilson
1-30 Scott III.
