A RESOLUTION
1- 1 Paying tribute to Daryl L. Grinstead and expressing sympathy
1- 2 to his family; and for other purposes.
1- 3 WHEREAS, Daryl L. Grinstead was an extraordinary community
1- 4 leader in Cornelia, Georgia, where he influenced the lives
1- 5 of fellow businessmen, citizens, and countless families
1- 6 through his public service and personal spiritual
1- 7 commitment; and
1- 8 WHEREAS, he was a young man who had attained many
1- 9 distinctions and accomplishments which reflected his
1-10 tremendous talent, determination, and vision and
1-11 significantly improved the quality of life in Habersham
1-12 County; and
1-13 WHEREAS, he distinguished himself professionally in his
1-14 career as a banker, having been a vice president with First
1-15 Citizens Bank in Clemson, South Carolina, before serving as
1-16 vice president of Habersham Bancorp; and
1-17 WHEREAS, in recognition of his exceptional leadership
1-18 skills, he was a former president of the Habersham County
1-19 Rotary Club where he was a Paul Harris Fellow and a Lee
1-20 Arrendale Fellow and a benefactor of the Rotary Scholarship
1-21 Fund, chairman of the United Way Campaign and member of the
1-22 local board of the United Way, member of the board of the
1-23 Georgia Mountain Regional Development Commission, former
1-24 member of the board of the Habersham County Chamber of
1-25 Commerce, past president of the local chapter of the
1-26 American Heart Association, and chairman of the board of
1-27 Georgia Community Life Insurance Company; and
1-28 WHEREAS, he was a deacon in the First Baptist Church where
1-29 he served as a Sunday school teacher for high school
1-30 students, and he dedicated his life and particularly his
1-31 last year of life as a cancer victim to Christian service
1-32 and inspired others to recognize the sanctity of life and to
1-33 seek meaningful, spiritual lives.
1-34 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
1-35 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body pay tribute to
1-36 Daryl L. Grinstead for his exemplary community leadership

2- 1 and convey their heartfelt sympathy to the members of his
2- 2 family.
2- 3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of
2- 4 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
2- 5 appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Daryl
2- 6 L. Grinstead.
