A RESOLUTION
1- 1 Commending the 1998 Irwin County High School Lady Indians
1- 2 Softball Team and inviting the team and its coaches to
1- 3 appear before the House of Representatives; and for other
1- 4 purposes.
1- 5 WHEREAS, the 1998 Irwin County High School Lady Indians
1- 6 Softball Team won the state Class A women's softball
1- 7 championship, with a season record of 29-5; and
1- 8 WHEREAS, the dynamic young players of the Lady Indians team
1- 9 demonstrated exceptional athletic ability, motivation,
1-10 resilience, and team spirit throughout their rigorous
1-11 season; and
1-12 WHEREAS, the team's achievements reflect the expert training
1-13 and encouragement provided by their excellent coaches, Leigh
1-14 Chestnutt, Judy Latham, and Ivey Vickers and the invaluable
1-15 and dedicated assistance of their managers, Leigh Luke and
1-16 Nakiesha Clowers; and
1-17 WHEREAS, the admirable record compiled by this team can only
1-18 be attributed to the dedication, drive, and outstanding
1-19 physical conditioning of the members of the team; and
1-20 WHEREAS, the members of this outstanding team included
1-21 Ashley Anderson, Holly Bayard, Stephanie Hudson, Missy
1-22 Martin, Therese Smith, TJ Hall, Jessi Harper, Paige Latham,
1-23 Abbie Morgan, Michelle Shealey, Morgan Shealey, Amanda
1-24 Spikes, Anna Yeager, Heather Bayard, Jessica Bess, Kayla
1-25 Harper, Lauren Hudson, Latoya Moffett, Dawn Morgan, and
1-26 Morgan Cook.
1-27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
1-28 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate
1-29 the 1998 Irwin County High School Lady Indians Softball
1-30 Team, State Champions, and commend their athletic ability
1-31 and outstanding team spirit.
1-32 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the team is invited to appear
1-33 before the House of Representatives at a date and time to be
1-34 designated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

2- 1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of
2- 2 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
2- 3 appropriate copy of this resolution to Head Coach Leigh
2- 4 Chestnutt and the members of the 1998 Irwin County High
2- 5 School Lady Indians Softball Team.
