A RESOLUTION
1- 1 Commending the Appling County High School girls softball
1- 2 team; and for other purposes.
1- 3 WHEREAS, the Appling County High School girls softball team
1- 4 is known as the Lady Pirates, and the accomplishments of the
1- 5 team have added immensely to the athletic history of the
1- 6 school and to the community's pride; and
1- 7 WHEREAS, the 1998 team compiled a wonderful overall record
1- 8 of 30 wins and only two losses throughout the season; and
1- 9 WHEREAS, these outstanding young athletes exhibited
1-10 extraordinary ability on the field of play, and they
1-11 demonstrated determination, resilience, and good
1-12 sportsmanship as a team; and
1-13 WHEREAS, these young women proudly won the following titles:
1-14 Pierce County Invitational Tournament Champs, Statesboro
1-15 Shootout Champs, Area 2 - AA Champs, South Sectional Winner,
1-16 and GHSA AA State Runner-Up; and
1-17 WHEREAS, the team is composed of the following members:
1-18 Jessica Dyal, Rebecca Johnson, Daisha Morris, Kristin Quinn,
1-19 Laticia P. Hallman, Nesbitt Tomberlin, Lindsey Baxley, Kacie
1-20 Blanton, Sarah Carter, Kimberly Fennell, Jana Lamb, Bridgett
1-21 Lasseter, Contessa Smith, Sarah Warren, Alissa Winn,
1-22 Samantha Wright, Candice Carter, Hanna Glenn, Amy Johnson,
1-23 Christy Roberson, Ashley Winn, Billie Jean Gibson, Lindsay
1-24 Reynolds, Alisha Tillman, and Jodi Whitty; and the team
1-25 coaches are Kathy Warren, Janice Sellers, and Tonya Long.
1-26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
1-27 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the
1-28 Appling County High School girls softball team and its
1-29 coaches on their terrific season and convey their best
1-30 wishes for the future.
1-31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of
1-32 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
1-33 appropriate copy of this resolution to Appling County High
1-34 School.
