A RESOLUTION
1- 1 Recognizing and commending Miss Jaye Frazier, 1999 Georgia
1- 2 Watermelon Queen and inviting her to appear before the House
1- 3 of Representatives; and for other purposes.
1- 4 WHEREAS, Miss Jaye Frazier was recently selected as the 1999
1- 5 Georgia Watermelon Queen by the Georgia Watermelon
1- 6 Association. In Jaye, the association found a deserving
1- 7 queen as she is a lovely and accomplished young lady; and
1- 8 WHEREAS, Jaye earned the title Watermelon Queen through a
1- 9 combination of her talents, intelligence, beauty, and her
1-10 commitment to her community and her state; and
1-11 WHEREAS, Jaye is the 20 year old daughter of Gene and Ginger
1-12 Frazier of Americus, Georgia. She attends Georgia
1-13 Southwestern State University pursuing a degree in Public
1-14 Relations; and
1-15 WHEREAS, Jaye is the third generation to live on her family
1-16 farm. She received many awards while participating in
1-17 cheerleading and softball. Jaye has had extensive training
1-18 in dance including tap, jazz, and pointe. She also has had
1-19 training in gymnastics. Jaye was a gymnastics instructor
1-20 for two years and currently is in her fourth year as a dance
1-21 instructor; and
1-22 WHEREAS, Jaye enjoys horseback riding, traveling, working
1-23 with children, and going to the ballet; and
1-24 WHEREAS, as Georgia Watermelon Queen, Jaye is the official
1-25 spokesperson for the Georgia Watermelon Association, and she
1-26 will make many appearances during 1999 across the state on
1-27 behalf of Georgia's watermelon industry. With her poise and
1-28 intelligence, Jaye will be an exemplary representative of
1-29 agriculture and the watermelon industry in Georgia.
1-30 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
1-31 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and
1-32 commend Miss Jaye Frazier on her selection as the 1999
1-33 Georgia Watermelon Queen and for her many achievements and
1-34 the outstanding way she represents the State of Georgia and
1-35 its agricultural heritage and invite her to appear before

2- 1 the House of Representatives at a date and time to be set by
2- 2 the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
2- 3 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of
2- 4 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
2- 5 appropriate copy of this resolution to Miss Jaye Frazier.
