                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Margaret Croft Jackson; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 2  WHEREAS, Margaret Jackson's many and outstanding 
  1- 3  contributions to the citizens of Cherokee County and the 
  1- 4  State of Georgia were recently recognized by the Canton 
  1- 5  Rotary Club when it awarded her the Lamar Haley Community 
  1- 6  Service Award; and 
 
  1- 7  WHEREAS, Margaret Jackson, a retired school teacher, 
  1- 8  selflessly gives her time and talent to others in many 
  1- 9  different ways, including initiating the R.M. Moore 
  1-10  Elementary School After School Program, as an original board 
  1-11  member, and serving as a volunteer at MUST Ministries; and 
 
  1-12  WHEREAS, Margaret Jackson has touched many lives as she 
  1-13  works on a personal level to help others through her service 
  1-14  as mentor and sponsor of home owners in the Habitat for 
  1-15  Humanity program, as a mentor to students at R.M. Moore 
  1-16  Elementary School, and as a mentor to international students 
  1-17  at Reinhardt College; and 
 
  1-18  WHEREAS, Margaret Jackson is active in the Waleska United 
  1-19  Methodist Church, where she serves as Missions Chairperson 
  1-20  for the Council on Ministries and has been President of 
  1-21  United Methodist Women; in addition, Mrs. Jackson is active 
  1-22  in the Atlanta/Marietta district of United Methodist Women, 
  1-23  including serving as Secretary for Education and 
  1-24  Interpretation; and 
 
  1-25  WHEREAS, Margaret Jackson, established a scholarship at 
  1-26  Reinhardt College in memory of her husband Thomas Jackson, 
  1-27  who was a professor at the college, and for many years, 
  1-28  excellent and deserving students have pursued higher 
  1-29  education due to her generosity. 
 
  1-30  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-31  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and 
  1-32  commend Margaret Croft Jackson for her extraordinary 
  1-33  contributions to Cherokee County and the State of Georgia 
  1-34  and congratulate her on the occasion of receiving the Canton 
  1-35  Rotary Club's Lamar Haley Community Service Award.

  2- 1  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  2- 2  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
