                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Stephen Edward Lee on becoming an Eagle Scout; 
  1- 2  and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, Stephen Edward Lee, a member of Troop 24 in 
  1- 4  Cartersville, Georgia, received the Eagle Scout Award at an 
  1- 5  Eagle Court of Honor Ceremony at the First Baptist Church in 
  1- 6  Cartersville on August 30, 1998; and 
 
  1- 7  WHEREAS, he is the son of Gene and Nanci Lee and the older 
  1- 8  brother of Phillip Lee; and 
 
  1- 9  WHEREAS, his skill, dedication, and athletic ability have 
  1-10  made him a valuable member of the soccer team at 
  1-11  Cartersville High School; and 
 
  1-12  WHEREAS, since 1911, the Eagle Scout Award has been the 
  1-13  symbol of the highest achievement among the Boy Scouts of 
  1-14  America; and 
 
  1-15  WHEREAS, the attainment of this rank indicates that a Scout 
  1-16  has developed leadership ability, self-confidence, mature 
  1-17  judgment, and mental and physical capabilities that will be 
  1-18  of immense benefit throughout his life; and 
 
  1-19  WHEREAS, in order for a Scout to reach this goal, he must 
  1-20  earn 21 merit badges, 11 of which are mandatory requirements 
  1-21  for the Eagle Scout program; and 
 
  1-22  WHEREAS, in achieving Eagle Scout status, Stephen Edward Lee 
  1-23  has brought honor to himself and to his family, his church, 
  1-24  and his troop. 
 
  1-25  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-26  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and 
  1-27  commend Stephen Edward Lee on his attainment of the rank of 
  1-28  Eagle Scout. 
 
  1-29  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-30  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-31  appropriate copy of this resolution to Stephen Edward Lee.
