                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Jimmy Tyson; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 2  WHEREAS, Jimmy Tyson, an employee of Lakeshore Carpets, has 
  1- 3  participated in Leadership Putnam and is graduating from 
  1- 4  such program on April 1, 1999; and 
 
  1- 5  WHEREAS, Leadership Putnam is a local program applying the 
  1- 6  principles of Leadership Georgia; and 
 
  1- 7  WHEREAS, Leadership Putnam selects young leaders in the 
  1- 8  county and provides an educational program designed to equip 
  1- 9  them to be better leaders; and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, selection for Leadership Putnam is a recognition of 
  1-11  demonstrated and potential leadership; and 
 
  1-12  WHEREAS, participation in Leadership Putnam requires a 
  1-13  substantial commitment of time and energy, but the 
  1-14  participants are enriched by the relationships they form 
  1-15  with each other, as well as by the knowledge and 
  1-16  understanding they gain from the experts on such topics as 
  1-17  governmental organization, education, private enterprise, 
  1-18  natural resources, finance, and rural and urban development; 
  1-19  and 
 
  1-20  WHEREAS, the formal and informal exchange of ideas between 
  1-21  the diverse participants in Leadership Putnam provide fresh 
  1-22  insight, broadened perspective, and renewed motivation. 
 
  1-23  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-24  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Jimmy 
  1-25  Tyson for his exemplary participation in Leadership Putnam. 
 
  1-26  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-27  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
