                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Gary Garrett; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 2  WHEREAS, Gary Garrett has participated in Leadership Greene 
  1- 3  as a member of the 1998-1999 class; and 
 
  1- 4  WHEREAS, Leadership Greene is a local program applying the 
  1- 5  principles of Leadership Georgia; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, Leadership Greene selects young leaders in the 
  1- 7  county and provides an educational program designed to equip 
  1- 8  them to be better leaders; and 
 
  1- 9  WHEREAS, selection for Leadership Greene is a recognition of 
  1-10  demonstrated and potential leadership; and 
 
  1-11  WHEREAS, participation in Leadership Greene requires a 
  1-12  substantial commitment of time and energy, but the 
  1-13  participants are enriched by the relationships they form 
  1-14  with each other, as well as by the knowledge and 
  1-15  understanding they gain from the experts on such topics as 
  1-16  governmental organization, education, private enterprise, 
  1-17  natural resources, finance, and rural and urban development; 
  1-18  and 
 
  1-19  WHEREAS, the formal and informal exchange of ideas between 
  1-20  the diverse participants in Leadership Greene provides fresh 
  1-21  insight, broadened perspective, and renewed motivation. 
 
  1-22  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-23  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Gary 
  1-24  Garrett for his exemplary participation in Leadership 
  1-25  Greene. 
 
  1-26  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-27  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-28  appropriate copy of this resolution to Gary Garrett.
