A RESOLUTION
1- 1 Recognizing and commending Karen Ross; and for other
1- 2 purposes.
1- 3 WHEREAS, Karen Ross has contributed significantly to the
1- 4 community in which she lives -- as a professional woman, an
1- 5 active member of various civic organizations, and a
1- 6 dedicated volunteer; and
1- 7 WHEREAS, she was born in Jacksonville, Florida, but received
1- 8 her education at Georgia State University where she earned
1- 9 her bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees; and
1-10 WHEREAS, she has pursued a career in the field of sales and
1-11 marketing where she has been a successful member of the
1-12 corporate organizations she has served; and
1-13 WHEREAS, in addition to her professional commitments, she
1-14 has been an active volunteer and a dedicated member of the
1-15 Atlanta Junior League, the Civil War Roundtable, and the
1-16 service programs sponsored by her employer, IBM; and
1-17 WHEREAS, she is also an active member and an officer of
1-18 numerous organizations of significance to the Republican
1-19 Party in Georgia, having served as the GOP chairperson for
1-20 House Districts 25 and 46, a Young Republican National
1-21 Committeewoman, member of the Glynn County GOP Executive
1-22 Committee, a member of the Georgia GOP State Committee, a
1-23 delegate to 1980 GOP National Convention, and the manager of
1-24 the 1988 Gingrich campaign; and
1-25 WHEREAS, it is most appropriate to acknowledge the
1-26 exceptional efforts of citizens who are involved members of
1-27 their communities and the civic and political organizations
1-28 thereof.
1-29 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GEORGIA HOUSE OF
1-30 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and
1-31 commend Karen Ross for her superb community service and her
1-32 excellent contributions to the Republican Party of Georgia
1-33 and express to her their best wishes in her future pursuits.

2- 1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of
2- 2 Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
2- 3 appropriate copy of this resolution to Karen Ross.
