                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Brandi Jean Simpson, the 1999 Henry County STAR 
  1- 2  Student; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, a proper quality education for the young people of 
  1- 4  this state is the single most important objective of the 
  1- 5  General Assembly; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, Brandi Jean Simpson of Henry County has shown by 
  1- 7  the example of her academic accomplishments that this lofty 
  1- 8  objective is within the reach of the students in this state; 
  1- 9  and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, this remarkable senior scholar earned numerous 
  1-11  awards for academic excellence in arts, English, math, and 
  1-12  science, scored 1470 on her SAT, was recently named as the 
  1-13  1999 Henry County STAR Student, and still finds time to 
  1-14  volunteer; and 
 
  1-15  WHEREAS, this prestigious selection provides a unique 
  1-16  opportunity to honor students who aspire to reach their 
  1-17  fullest intellectual potential; and 
 
  1-18  WHEREAS, Brandi has personified the hard work, commitment, 
  1-19  and personal maturity necessary for the attainment of 
  1-20  academic excellence; and 
 
  1-21  WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body 
  1-22  to honor the extraordinary accomplishments and dedication of 
  1-23  such an outstanding individual. 
 
  1-24  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-25  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend 
  1-26  heartily Brandi Jean Simpson for her spectacular scholastic 
  1-27  endeavors, congratulate her upon being named 1999 Henry 
  1-28  County STAR Student, and express to her their sincerest best 
  1-29  wishes for continued success in school and in life. 
 
  1-30  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-31  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
