                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending Dr. Jean DeVard-Kemp; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 2  WHEREAS, Dr. Jean DeVard-Kemp, Assistant Commissioner of the 
  1- 3  Office of Adult Literacy for the Georgia Department of 
  1- 4  Technical and Adult Education, has long been recognized by 
  1- 5  the citizens of Georgia for the vital role that she has 
  1- 6  played in the field of adult literacy and her deep personal 
  1- 7  commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and 
 
  1- 8  WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted 
  1- 9  innumerable hours of her time, talents, and energy toward 
  1-10  the betterment of her state as evidenced dramatically by her 
  1-11  recognition by Governor Zell Miller and The Georgia Society 
  1-12  of Public Managers, Inc., as 1995 Manager of the Year; and 
 
  1-13  WHEREAS, her significant organizational and leadership 
  1-14  talents, her remarkable patience and diplomacy, her keen 
  1-15  sense of vision, and her sensitivity to the needs of the 
  1-16  citizens of this state have earned her the respect and 
  1-17  admiration of her colleagues and associates; and 
 
  1-18  WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an 
  1-19  unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, 
  1-20  fairness, and kindness; and 
 
  1-21  WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the 
  1-22  outstanding accomplishments of this distinguished Georgian 
  1-23  be appropriately recognized. 
 
  1-24  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-25  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Dr. 
  1-26  Jean DeVard-Kemp for her efficient, effective, unselfish, 
  1-27  and dedicated public service to the citizens of his 
  1-28  community and state and extend to her their most sincere 
  1-29  best wishes for continued health and happiness. 
 
  1-30  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-31  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-32  appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Jean DeVard-Kemp.
