                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Designating the Veterans Memorial Highway; and for other 
  1- 2  purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, veterans of the national military and naval 
  1- 4  services have a long and distinguished record of 
  1- 5  accomplishments achieved during periods of war and peace; 
  1- 6  and 
 
  1- 7  WHEREAS, the exceptional leadership, courage, and commitment 
  1- 8  demonstrated by the veteran members of the armed forces of 
  1- 9  the United States have created a proud and noble 
  1-10  professional heritage; and 
 
  1-11  WHEREAS, throughout the history of the United States 
  1-12  veterans have demonstrated an extraordinary devotion to duty 
  1-13  and love for country, and their dedication, valor, and 
  1-14  heroism exemplify the highest standards of personal conduct 
  1-15  and career service; and 
 
  1-16  WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the many 
  1-17  veterans of Douglas County who have contributed so much to 
  1-18  the welfare of the citizens of their community, state, and 
  1-19  nation be appropriately recognized. 
 
  1-20  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF 
  1-21  GEORGIA that U. S. Highway 78 in Douglas County  be 
  1-22  designated the Veterans Memorial Highway. 
 
  1-23  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Transportation 
  1-24  is authorized and directed to place and maintain appropriate 
  1-25  markers designating the Veterans Memorial Highway. 
 
  1-26  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Ga. Highway 92, from 
  1-27  Hiram Sudie Road to Ridge Road in Paulding County, be 
  1-28  designated the Travis Tritt Highway. 
 
  1-29  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY that 
  1-30  the Akers Mill Road Bridge over I-75 in Cobb County be 
  1-31  designated the Fred Bentley, Sr. Bridge.
