                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending the 1998 Carrollton Trojan Varsity football team 
  1- 2  and inviting them to appear before the House of 
  1- 3  Representatives; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 4  WHEREAS, the 1998 Carrollton Trojan Varsity football team 
  1- 5  captured the Class AA State Championship; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, this team's accomplishments bring great credit to 
  1- 7  its members, coaches, support staff, and school 
  1- 8  administration, and reflect positively on Carrollton and the 
  1- 9  surrounding community; and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, the team members put tremendous effort into 
  1-11  sharpening their skills as individuals and as a team through 
  1-12  preparation and practice; and 
 
  1-13  WHEREAS, the achievement of this level of excellence in the 
  1-14  game of football requires an outstanding spirit of 
  1-15  dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work in the daily lives of 
  1-16  all who were instrumental in this success; and 
 
  1-17  WHEREAS, band members, cheerleaders, managers, trainers, 
  1-18  parents, and fans throughout the community were steadfast in 
  1-19  their support of the Trojans; and 
 
  1-20  WHEREAS, this remarkable team's performance throughout the 
  1-21  season and particularly in the final victory over Early 
  1-22  County to earn the championship provided many thrilling 
  1-23  moments for these young people and for the history of Trojan 
  1-24  athletics. 
 
  1-25  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-26  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the 
  1-27  1998 Carrollton Trojan Varsity football team, State 
  1-28  Champions, and invite the team members to appear before the 
  1-29  House of Representatives at a date and time to be designated 
  1-30  by the Speaker of the House of Representatives. 
 
  1-31  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-32  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-33  appropriate copy of this resolution to the 1998 Carrollton 
  1-34  Trojan Varsity football team.
