                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Recognizing and commending John S. Dean; and for other 
  1- 2  purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, John S. Dean is a prominent business and civic 
  1- 4  leader in Jasper and Pickens Counties, particularly in the 
  1- 5  rural electric industry and in banking; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, he served 24 years as President and CEO of 
  1- 7  Amicalola Electric Membership Corporation and as a member of 
  1- 8  the Georgia Electric Membership Corporation Board of 
  1- 9  Directors; and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, throughout his long and distinguished career, he 
  1-11  has provided valuable information in the development of 
  1-12  strategic decisions in the rural electric industry; and 
 
  1-13  WHEREAS, in addition to his public utilities career, he has 
  1-14  demonstrated exceptional leadership in the banking industry 
  1-15  where he served 11 years on the board for Crescent Bank and 
  1-16  Trust Company, 7 years as director of CoBank, and 12 years 
  1-17  on the board for North Georgia Certified Development 
  1-18  Corporation; and 
 
  1-19  WHEREAS, he has been an active member of the Pickens, 
  1-20  Gilmer, Cherokee, Dawson, and Lumpkin Counties Chambers of 
  1-21  Commerce where he has provided guidance on numerous civic 
  1-22  and business issues; and 
 
  1-23  WHEREAS, in addition to his broad knowledge and experience, 
  1-24  John S. Dean has been a mentor and friend to his colleagues 
  1-25  and a devoted husband and father to his wonderful family. 
 
  1-26  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  1-27  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and 
  1-28  commend John S. Dean for his dedicated business and civic 
  1-29  leadership and convey to him their respect and appreciation 
  1-30  for his community service. 
 
  1-31  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  1-32  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an 
  1-33  appropriate copy of this resolution to John S. Dean.
