                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Recognizing and commending Allison S. Morris for her 
  1- 2  outstanding service on behalf of Georgia's consumers; and 
  1- 3  for other purposes. 
 
  1- 4  WHEREAS, Allison S. Morris was born and raised in 
  1- 5  Tallahassee, Florida, and received a B.S. degree in 
  1- 6  accounting from Florida State University; and 
 
  1- 7  WHEREAS, Allison Morris has worked for the Consumers' 
  1- 8  Utility Counsel Division ("CUCD") of the Governor's Office 
  1- 9  of Consumer Affairs for the past 14 years, and in that time 
  1-10  she has demonstrated excellent analytical skills and a 
  1-11  tireless work ethic; and 
 
  1-12  WHEREAS, Mrs. Morris began working for the CUCD in 1986 and 
  1-13  was responsible for the analysis of rate filings in 
  1-14  proceedings before the Georgia Public Service Commission and 
  1-15  for the preparation of testimony in those proceedings; and 
 
  1-16  WHEREAS, she was promoted to Utility Analyst in 1990, and 
  1-17  her expanded duties in that position included analysis of 
  1-18  tariff filings and rate design proposals in regard to 
  1-19  Georgia's regulated utility companies; and 
 
  1-20  WHEREAS, Mrs. Morris testified persuasively on behalf of the 
  1-21  CUCD in proceedings before the Public Service Commission and 
  1-22  ably conducted cross-examination of other expert witnesses 
  1-23  when necessary; and 
 
  1-24  WHEREAS, Allison Morris was promoted to Assistant Director 
  1-25  of the CUCD in 1995, with responsibility for CUCD's case 
  1-26  administration and general oversight of the division; and 
 
  1-27  WHEREAS, Mrs. Morris' superlative work has contributed to 
  1-28  savings for the ratepayers of Georgia in many ways, 
  1-29  particularly in bringing rate relief of more than $500 
  1-30  million to Georgia's small businesses in 1998; and 
 
  1-31  WHEREAS, Allison Morris is married to Leon Morris, and they 
  1-32  are the proud parents of a young daughter and son; and 
 
  1-33  WHEREAS, she has committed to devote her time in the near 
  1-34  future to raising her two young children and is retiring 
  1-35  from state government; and

  2- 1  WHEREAS, Allison Morris can justly be proud of her 14 years 
  2- 2  of effort to keep utility rates reasonable and affordable 
  2- 3  for all Georgia ratepayers. 
 
  2- 4  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 
  2- 5  REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body heartily 
  2- 6  commend Allison S. Morris for her outstanding contributions 
  2- 7  on behalf of the consumers of this state and extend their 
  2- 8  best wishes for her continued success. 
 
  2- 9  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of 
  2-10  Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an
