                        A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 
                               AN ACT 
 
 
  1- 1  To amend Title 47 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, 
  1- 2  relating to retirement and pensions, so as to correct 
  1- 3  typographical, stylistic, and other errors and omissions in 
  1- 4  Title 47 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated and in 
  1- 5  Acts of the General Assembly amending Title 47 of the 
  1- 6  Official Code of Georgia Annotated; to correct 
  1- 7  capitalization and spelling in Title 47 of the Official Code 
  1- 8  of Georgia Annotated; to provide for other matters relative 
  1- 9  to Title 47 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated; to 
  1-10  provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and 
  1-11  for other purposes. 
 
  1-12       BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: 
 
  1-13                           SECTION 1. 
 
  1-14  Title 47 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating 
  1-15  to retirement and pensions, is amended as follows: 
 
  1-16      (1) By striking "is resolved" and inserting in its place 
  1-17      "is revoked" in subsection (b) and by striking "the 
  1-18      provision" and inserting in its place "the provisions" 
  1-19      in subsection (c) of Code Section 47-2-264.1, relating 
  1-20      to membership in retirement system of employees paid by 
  1-21      the office of the district attorney, contributions, and 
  1-22      creditable service. 
 
  1-23      (2) By designating the introductory language as 
  1-24      subsection (a) and by redesignating paragraph (5) as 
  1-25      subsection (b) in Code Section 47-23-100, relating to 
  1-26      the definition of salary. 
 
  1-27      (3) By deleting ", whichever date is later" from 
  1-28      paragraph (1) of subsection (b) of Code Section 
  1-29      47-23-105, relating to spouses' benefits, ceasing 
  1-30      spouses' benefits, vesting, and designation of 
  1-31      survivor's benefits. 
 
  1-32      (4) By striking "the Act creating" and inserting in its 
  1-33      place "an Act, approved April 2, 1998 (Ga. L. 1998, p.

  2- 1      513), creating" in Code Section 47-23-124, relating to 
  2- 2      legislative intent. 
 
  2- 3                           SECTION 2. 
 
  2- 4  This Act shall become effective upon its approval by the 
  2- 5  Governor or upon its becoming law without such approval. 
 
  2- 6                           SECTION 3. 
 
  2- 7  All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
