                        A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 
                               AN ACT 
 
 
  1- 1  To amend Part 4 of Article 6 of Chapter 3 of Title 12 of the 
  1- 2  Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the "Stone 
  1- 3  Mountain Memorial Association Act," so as to provide for the 
  1- 4  purposes of the association; to provide for related matters; 
  1- 5  to provide for an effective date; to repeal conflicting 
  1- 6  laws; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 7       BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA: 
 
  1- 8                           SECTION 1. 
 
  1- 9  Part 4 of Article 6 of Chapter 3 of Title 12 of the Official 
  1-10  Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the "Stone Mountain 
  1-11  Memorial Association Act," is amended by adding following 
  1-12  Code Section 12-3-192 a new Code section to read as follows: 
 
  1-13    "12-3-192.1. 
 
  1-14    The purposes of the Stone Mountain Memorial Association 
  1-15    shall include: 
 
  1-16      (1) To preserve the natural areas situated within the 
  1-17      Stone Mountain Park area; 
 
  1-18      (2) To provide access to Stone Mountain for Georgia's 
  1-19      citizens; and 
 
  1-20      (3) To maintain an appropriate and suitable memorial for 
  1-21      the Confederacy." 
 
  1-22                           SECTION 2. 
 
  1-23  This Act shall become effective on July 1, 1999. 
 
  1-24                           SECTION 3. 
 
  1-25  All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are 
  1-26  repealed.
