A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
1- 1 To amend an Act entitled "An Act creating the State Court of
1- 2 Chattooga County," approved March 29, 1983 (Ga. L. 1983, p.
1- 3 4570), and amended, particularly by an Act approved April 4,
1- 4 1991 (Ga. L. 1991, p. 3846), so as to change the salary
1- 5 provisions relative to the judge and solicitor-general of
1- 6 such court; to provide an effective date; to repeal
1- 7 conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
1- 8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
1- 9 SECTION 1.
1-10 An Act entitled "An Act creating the State Court of
1-11 Chattooga County," approved March 29, 1983 (Ga. L. 1983, p.
1-12 4570), as amended, particularly by an Act approved April 4,
1-13 1991 (Ga. L. 1991, p. 3846), is amended by inserting at the
1-14 end of Section 12 the following:
1-15 "(e) The amounts provided in subsection (c) shall be
1-16 increased by multiplying said amounts by the percentage
1-17 which equals 5 percent times the number of completed
1-18 terms of office served by any state court judge where such
1-19 terms have been completed after December 31, 1985,
1-20 effective the first day of January following the
1-21 completion of each such period of service."
1-22 SECTION 2.
1-23 Said Act is further amended by inserting at the end of
1-24 Section 13 the following:
1-25 "(e) The amounts provided in subsection (c) shall be
1-26 increased by multiplying said amounts by the percentage
1-27 which equals 5 percent times the number of completed
1-28 terms of office served by any state court
1-29 solicitor-general where such terms have been completed
1-30 after December 31, 1985, effective the first day of
1-31 January following the completion of each such period of
1-32 service."

2- 1 SECTION 3.
2- 2 This Act shall become effective January 1, 2000.
2- 3 SECTION 4.
2- 4 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
2- 5 repealed.
