A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
1- 1 To amend an Act creating a Magistrate's Court of Rockdale
1- 2 County, approved March 13, 1978 (Ga. L. 1978, p. 3907), as
1- 3 amended, particularly by an Act approved March 22, 1990 (Ga.
1- 4 L. 1990, p. 4520), so as to change the provisions relating
1- 5 to the annual salary of the chief magistrate; to provide an
1- 6 effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
1- 7 purposes.
1- 8 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
1- 9 SECTION 1.
1-10 An Act creating a Magistrate's Court of Rockdale County,
1-11 approved March 13, 1978 (Ga. L. 1978, p. 3907), as amended,
1-12 particularly by an Act approved March 22, 1990 (Ga. L. 1990,
1-13 p. 4520), is amended by striking Section 12 of said Act and
1-14 inserting in lieu thereof a new Section 12 to read as
1-15 follows:
1-16 The chief magistrate of the Magistrate's Court of Rockdale
1-17 County shall receive an annual salary equal to 47 percent
1-18 of the base salary of a superior court judge as set forth
1-19 in Code Section 45-7-4 of the O.C.G.A., as now or
1-20 hereafter amended. The base salary of a superior court
1-21 judge shall mean that salary paid from state funds and
1-22 shall not include any county supplement or expense
1-23 reimbursements. The salary provided in this section may
1-24 be increased at any time by resolution of the Rockdale
1-25 County Board of Commissioners."
1-26 SECTION 2.
1-27 This Act shall become effective on July 1, 1999.
1-28 SECTION 3.
1-29 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
1-30 repealed.
