A RESOLUTION
1- 1 Commending Impact Ministries, the legislative aides serving
1- 2 the Georgia Senate, and their legislative coordinators; and
1- 3 for other purposes.
1- 4 WHEREAS, Impact Ministries was founded in 1993 with the
1- 5 primary objective of building a relationship with the
1- 6 leadership of state government; and
1- 7 WHEREAS, Impact Ministries has established a program to
1- 8 encourage young people to become more aware and involved in
1- 9 governmental affairs through a program of service to members
1-10 of state legislative assemblies; and
1-11 WHEREAS, the Georgia Service Network of Impact Ministries
1-12 has provided 20 young men and women to serve as volunteer
1-13 legislative aides to members of the Georgia State Senate for
1-14 the 1999 regular session; and
1-15 WHEREAS, the outstanding assistance provided by these young
1-16 volunteers has greatly benefited the members of the Senate;
1-17 and
1-18 WHEREAS, a debt of gratitude is expressed to Impact
1-19 Ministries and its President, Dr. Carroll Phillips; to the
1-20 legislative coordinators Will Thornton and Kerry Reid; and
1-21 for the services of Timmy Barr, Grace Simmons, Jayna
1-22 Kirkhart, Jamie Peavy, Aimee Brandenburg, Rebekah Johnson,
1-23 Stephanie Kotzum, Keith Williams, Joy Simmons, Faith Baucum,
1-24 Nels Peterson, Rachel Weed, Eric Thomas, Nathaniel Darnell,
1-25 Matthew Johnson, Kort Peterson, Melissa Bywater, Hannah
1-26 Peavy, Katie Jeffcoat, and Charis Cochran.
1-27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the
1-28 members of this body commend Impact Ministries and the
1-29 volunteer legislative aides for their tremendous service to
1-30 this legislative body.
1-31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is
1-32 authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of
1-33 this resolution to Dr. Carroll Phillips, President of Impact
1-34 Ministries.
