                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Congratulating and commending Larry Gritton; and for other 
  1- 2  purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, Larry Gritton is the highly respected Athletic 
  1- 4  Director of Curtis Baptist High School in Augusta, Georgia, 
  1- 5  where he has contributed immeasurably to the school's proud 
  1- 6  tradition of interscholastic sports; and 
 
  1- 7  WHEREAS, he has been a member of the school faculty for the 
  1- 8  past five years and has compiled an impressive record as a 
  1- 9  high school basketball coach during his career at Curtis and 
  1-10  the years he coached elsewhere; and 
 
  1-11  WHEREAS, Coach Gritton has attained a distinction achieved 
  1-12  by few in winning his 600th basketball game, and his 
  1-13  personal satisfaction is excelled only by the tremendous 
  1-14  excitement and fame shared by the athletes and students of 
  1-15  Curtis Baptist High School and the community; and 
 
  1-16  WHEREAS, Curtis Baptist High School was founded in 1963 and 
  1-17  celebrates 35 years of excellence in elementary and 
  1-18  secondary education; and 
 
  1-19  WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Coach Gritton and his 
  1-20  dedicated direction of the boys varsity and junior varsity 
  1-21  basketball teams have added immensely to the school spirit 
  1-22  and community connection. 
 
  1-23  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that Coach 
  1-24  Larry Gritton, Athletic Director of Curtis Baptist High 
  1-25  School, is heartily congratulated on his 600th basketball 
  1-26  triumph and the members of this body convey to him their 
  1-27  very best wishes for continued success in his coaching 
  1-28  career. 
 
  1-29  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is 
  1-30  authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of 
  1-31  this resolution to Larry Gritton, Athletic Director of
