A RESOLUTION
1- 1 Commending Melody Ann Whitaker Bradley as a University
1- 2 System of Georgia Outstanding Scholar on Academic
1- 3 Recognition Day; and for other purposes.
1- 4 WHEREAS, Georgia's educational system is dedicated to the
1- 5 goal of providing a quality education to all and fostering
1- 6 the realization of each person's fullest potential; and
1- 7 WHEREAS, the 34 institutions of the University System of
1- 8 Georgia are valuable resources for the people of this state,
1- 9 enhancing the intellectual, economic, social, civic, and
1-10 cultural well-being of the communities in which they are
1-11 located and the entire state; and
1-12 WHEREAS, Academic Recognition Day was begun in 1987 as a
1-13 celebration of individual academic achievement and
1-14 recognition of those students who exemplify that which is
1-15 best about the University System of Georgia and its
1-16 institutions--inspired and dedicated teaching and excellence
1-17 in learning; and
1-18 WHEREAS, Melody Ann Whitaker Bradley from Gordon College
1-19 represents excellence in undergraduate academic achievement
1-20 and personal development.
1-21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that Melody Ann
1-22 Whitaker Bradley as a University System of Georgia
1-23 Outstanding Scholar is commended for her achievements in
1-24 education and upon her selection as a representative of
1-25 Gordon College on the occasion of this thirteenth Annual
1-26 Academic Recognition Day.
1-27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is
1-28 authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of
1-29 this resolution to Melody Ann Whitaker Bradley.
