                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Recognizing and commending Susan Wells Drechsel; and for 
  1- 2  other purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, Susan Wells Drechsel has served as a member of the 
  1- 4  Office of Legislative Counsel with the utmost ability and 
  1- 5  dedication since the 1996 Regular Session; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, she has provided the members of the General 
  1- 7  Assembly thorough advice and counsel on legislative 
  1- 8  procedure and on statutory and constitutional questions; and 
 
  1- 9  WHEREAS, she has ably assisted the House Industry Committee 
  1-10  and the House and Senate Education Committees and 
  1-11  demonstrated adeptness, clarity, and completeness as she 
  1-12  drafted major legislation concerning natural gas 
  1-13  deregulation, telecommunications marketing, and education 
  1-14  reform; and 
 
  1-15  WHEREAS, throughout her public service she has presented 
  1-16  informed, insightful, and compelling considerations during 
  1-17  committee deliberations and always observed the highest 
  1-18  standards of courtesy; and 
 
  1-19  WHEREAS, her experience, intellect, and talent coupled with 
  1-20  her good-natured wit and charm have earned her the respect 
  1-21  and appreciation of the members of this body and the 
  1-22  admiration and friendship of her colleagues. 
 
  1-23  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the 
  1-24  members of this body recognize and commend Susan Wells 
  1-25  Drechsel for her superb performance during the past five 
  1-26  sessions as Assistant Legislative Counsel and convey to her 
  1-27  their heartiest best wishes as she leaves the Gold Dome to 
  1-28  be with her family. 
 
  1-29  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is 
  1-30  authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of
