                             A RESOLUTION 
 
  1- 1  Commending the 1998 Irwin County High School Lady Indians 
  1- 2  Softball Team; and for other purposes. 
 
  1- 3  WHEREAS, the 1998 Irwin County High School Lady Indians 
  1- 4  Softball Team won the state Class A women's softball 
  1- 5  championship, with a season record of 29-5; and 
 
  1- 6  WHEREAS, the dynamic young players of the Lady Indians team 
  1- 7  demonstrated exceptional athletic ability, motivation, 
  1- 8  resilience, and team spirit throughout their rigorous 
  1- 9  season; and 
 
  1-10  WHEREAS, the team's achievements reflect the expert training 
  1-11  and encouragement provided by their excellent coaches, Leigh 
  1-12  Chestnutt, Judy Latham, and Ivey Vickers and the invaluable 
  1-13  and dedicated assistance of their managers, Leigh Luke and 
  1-14  Nakiesha Clowers; and 
 
  1-15  WHEREAS, the admirable record compiled by this team can only 
  1-16  be attributed to the dedication, drive, and outstanding 
  1-17  physical conditioning of the members of the team; and 
 
  1-18  WHEREAS, the members of this outstanding team included 
  1-19  Ashley Anderson, Holly Bayard, Stephanie Hudson, Missy 
  1-20  Martin, Therese Smith, TJ Hall, Jessi Harper, Paige Latham, 
  1-21  Abbie Morgan, Michelle Shealey, Morgan Shealey, Amanda 
  1-22  Spikes, Anna Yeager, Heather Bayard, Jessica Bess, Kayla 
  1-23  Harper, Lauren Hudson, Latoya Moffett, Dawn Morgan, and 
  1-24  Morgan Cook. 
 
  1-25  NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the 
  1-26  members of this body congratulate the 1998 Irwin County High 
  1-27  School Lady Indians Softball Team, State Champions, and 
  1-28  commend their athletic ability and outstanding team spirit. 
 
  1-29  BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is 
  1-30  authorized and directed to transmit appropriate copies of 
  1-31  this resolution to Head Coach Leigh Chestnutt and the 
  1-32  members of the 1998 Irwin County High School Lady Indians
