Rick Price of Fayetteville was elected in 1996 to serve his first term in
the Georgia Senate in 1997-98 Assembly.
Price has been selected as the deputy whip of the Minority Party in the Senate.
Price, a Republican, is serving as secretary on the Consumer Affairs
committee. Senator Price is also a member of the Economic Development,
Tourism and Cultural Affairs; State and Local Governmental Operations; and
Transportation committees.
Before his election to the Georgia State Senate, Price served on the Fayette
County Board of Commissioners for eight years, and was the Commission
Chairman from 1994-1996.
He has served as a member of the Atlanta Regional Commission, the ARC Executive
Committee, the ARC Transportation Committee and the ARC Natural Gas Committee.
Price is a graduate of the Atlanta Regional Commission Regional Leadership Institute.
Senator Price's occupation is that of a Charter Financial Consultant and
Chartered Life Underwriter. He attended Miami-Dade Community College and is currently
working towards his Master of Science Degree in Financial Services.
Price was born in Guantano Bay, Cuba at the U.S. Naval Base, and served in
the U.S. Naval Reserves. Price and his wife of 19 years, Donna, are the parents of two
daughters, Alicia and Kathryn. He has lived in Fayette County for 16 years.
