A BILL TO BE
ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend Code Section 50-14-1 of the Official Code of
Georgia Annotated, relating to definitions regarding open and public meetings,
so as to clarify the definition of an agency to which such provisions are
applicable to include county boards of equalization and county boards of tax
assessors; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for
other purposes.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
GEORGIA:
SECTION 1.
Code Section 50-14-1 of the Official Code of Georgia
Annotated, relating to definitions regarding open and public meetings, is
amended by striking subparagraph (a)(1)(C) and inserting in its place a new
subparagraph (a)(1)(C) to read as
follows:
"(C)
Every department, agency, board, bureau, commission, authority, or similar body
of each such county, municipal corporation, or other political subdivision of
the state. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, this
subparagraph shall include, but not be limited to, every county board of
equalization and every county board of tax
assessors;".
SECTION 2.
This Act shall become effective upon its approval by the
Governor or upon its becoming law without such approval.
SECTION 3.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are
repealed.
