A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend Chapter 1 of Title 33 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions regarding insurance, so as to require certain insurers to provide a loss history to an insured under certain circumstances; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Chapter 1 of Title 33 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions regarding insurance, is amended by adding a new Code section at the end thereof, to be designated Code Section 33-1-18, to read as follows:
"33_1_18.
In the event of cancellation, nonrenewal, or renewal of any commercial insurance policy, the insurer, upon written request of the insured or the insured's current agent of record, shall be required to provide to the insured or the insured´s current agent of record a written loss history within 30 days of the date of such written request."

SECTION 2.
This Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its becoming law without such approval.

SECTION 3.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
