House Resolution 1199

A RESOLUTION
In memory of Deacon Zebedee (Zeb) Poke; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Zebedee (Zeb) Poke was born on
June 22, 1919, in Worth County, Georgia, a beloved son of William Andrew Poke
and Clara Green Poke; and
WHEREAS, he was united
in holy matrimony with Georgia Mae Clark in 1938 and from their loving union was
born two daughters, Mrs. Zeppie Mae Brown and Mrs. Thelma Davis, and one son,
Mr. Terry Gene Poke; and
WHEREAS, he was a faithful
member of the New Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where he served as a member of the
Deacon Board; and
WHEREAS, he was employed as a
butcher for Turner County Frozen Foods and was self_employed as the owner of
Zeb´s Barbeque; and
WHEREAS, he was a loving
family man who was respected and admired by his friends and neighbors and
served his community well; and
WHEREAS, he was a
member of the Worth County Young Farmers Association;
and
WHEREAS, he will live forever in the hearts and
memories of those who loved him.
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body
remember and honor the life of Deacon Zebedee (Zeb)
Poke.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the
House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate
copy of this resolution to Mrs. Georgia Mae Poke.
