A RESOLUTION
Commending the 2000 Girls and Boys Varsity Soccer Teams
of
Starr´s
Mill High School and inviting the teams and their coaches to appear before the
House of Representatives; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, the 2000
Starr´s
Mill Girls Varsity Soccer Team and the Boys Varsity Soccer Team won their
respective Class AAA state championship titles and brought fame and honor to the
school, athletic coaches, and the community;
and
WHEREAS, these outstanding young athletes have
demonstrated superior talent, motivation, and teamwork and made history for
Starr´s
Mill High School in the game of soccer;
and
WHEREAS, the Girls Varsity Soccer Team has the
distinction of winning the state championship title for the second year in a row
and compiled a 19-1-0 season record, and the Boys Varsity Soccer Team achieved a
first for the school with its state title and completed a 16-2-2 record for the
year; and
WHEREAS, the girls varsity roster for
2000 included Janet Burke, Lauren Jones, Jordan Turner, Alice Martin, Allison
Graham, Marcy Hubbard, Rachel Sproul, Lindsey Wegrzy, Katey Price, Jenna McEwan,
Megan Buchanan, Jessica Parsons, Kacy Murray, Amanda Thurber, Cathryn Slasinski,
Kristin Rutland, and Stacee Sproul; Jamie Brotemarkle is Head Coach and Richard
O´Brien
is Assistant Coach; and
WHEREAS, the boys varsity
roster for 2000 included Jordan Davis, Tim Fevella, Mikey Hubbard, Eric Matlaga,
Brandon Henry, Jared Grace, Don Lambing, Tim Murphy, Sammy Chang, Chris Shaver,
Chris Lambing, Josh Vanderbush, Eric Simonsen, Danny Bates, Ben Ragan, Jason
Daley, Robert Cooper, Sean Hulse, and Anthony Pecca; Michael C. Hanie is Head
Coach and Mike Raymer is Assistant Coach.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend and congratulate the 2000
Starr´s
Mill Girls and Boys Varsity Soccer Teams and their coaches on winning Class AAA
state championship titles and invite them to appear before the House of
Representatives at a time to be determined by the Speaker of the
House.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the
House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate
copy of this resolution to the head coaches.
