A RESOLUTION

Commending Matthew Crow Hunter; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Matthew Crow Hunter of Boy Scout Troop 580 in Lilburn, Georgia, was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest recognition conferred by the Boy Scouts of America, on January 6, 2002; and

WHEREAS, a candidate for the Eagle Scout rank must complete a rigorous program of training and demonstrate his proficiency in selected scouting techniques; and

WHEREAS, few boys reach this lofty level of achievement and Matthew has ably demonstrated the various special skills taught through the Boy Scout program and completed a significant community service project refurbishing one outdoor classroom at Snellville Middle School and building another to include benches, podiums, and a garden; and

WHEREAS, this outstanding young man has truly exhibited a commitment to the scouting principles of honesty, fairness, and community service; and he has consistently conducted himself in a manner becoming an Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to recognize the excellent accomplishments of this very dedicated Boy Scout.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Matthew Crow Hunter for his diligence and dedication in pursuing the highest award in the Boy Scouts of America and congratulate him on attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Matthew Crow Hunter.
