A RESOLUTION

Congratulating the Collins Hill High School Wrestling Team and Coach Cliff Ramos for winning the 2002 Class AAAAA state wrestling championship and inviting team members and their coach to appear before the House; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Collins Hill High School Wrestling Team on Saturday, February 9, 2002, won the Georgia Class AAAAA state wrestling championship; and

WHEREAS, this outstanding team turned in a school_best eight placers and held off the McEachern High School team by six points to win the tournament for individuals; and

WHEREAS, this dedicated group of young men displayed great confidence and determination necessary to win a team title in this most demanding sport, bringing the state championship trophy to Collins Hill for the first time; and

WHEREAS, this extraordinary team capped its best ever season when it finished second in the state dual meet for the top 16 Class AAAAA teams in the state; and

WHEREAS, the members of this team and their weight classes are as follows: Tyler Parker at 103 pounds; Michael Bui at 112 pounds; Nick Lukacs at 125 pounds; Charlie Slusher at 145 pounds; David Quintero at 152 pounds; Steve McGuire at 160 pounds; Curtis Canova at 215 pounds; and Derek Tiller at 275 pounds.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body hereby congratulate the Collins Hill High School Wrestling Team and Coach Cliff Ramos for winning the 2002 Class AAAAA state wrestling championship and invite the team members and their coach to appear before the House at a time to be determined by the Speaker.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Coach Ramos on behalf of the team.
