A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Joe Morton; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Joe Morton of Waycross, Georgia,
was named Co-Player of the Year for 2000 by the Georgia State Golf Association
at its annual award luncheon at the Cherokee Town and Country Club in Atlanta on
January 20, 2001; and
WHEREAS, this outstanding
young golfer won the Georgia Junior Championship for 2000 and tied in points
with Patrick Phillips of Athens for the Boys Player of the Year, the fourth time
since the award began in 1987 that the winners were tied;
and
WHEREAS, he is a 17 year-old junior at Ware
County High School and his exceptional talent, powerful drives, and incredible
focus and control have made him a terrific player to follow in this increasingly
competitive sport; and
WHEREAS, his discipline,
stamina, and indomitable spirit have earned him a strong history of success and
promise thrilling games and special memories in the years
ahead.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE
OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Joe
Morton on being named Boys Co-Player of the Year for 2000 and convey to him
their heartiest congratulations.
BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and
directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Joe Morton.
