A RESOLUTION

Commending the Parkview High School Panthers football team; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Parkview High School Panthers football team has established and maintained a proud tradition of excellence in boys´ football with equal emphases on character and academics; and

WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another ultrasuccessful season of football competition by posting a perfect record of 15 wins and no losses; and

WHEREAS, the Panthers prowled through the state playoffs and, as a fitting finale to their remarkable 2000 campaign, the team captured the first State Football Championship of the newly created Class AAAAA in a dramatic 19-7 win over Harrison; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team as it earned its second state football title in the last four years is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team; their superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astute direction of Head Coach Cecil Flowe; and

WHEREAS, this magnificent team performed with precision during the season and earned its well-deserved reputation for high standards of athletic achievement, the quality of its play, and the stiff competition which it presented its opponents.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Parkview High School Panthers football team for its unparalleled achievements and extend their sincerest best wishes for continued success in the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Head Coach Cecil Flowe.
