Commending Honorable Claude Abercrombie; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Honorable Claude Abercrombie is the very capable Douglas County Commissioner from District 2 who has ably represented the concerns of the citizens of his district since 1993 and has demonstrated his commitment to serve the best interests of the county as a whole; and

WHEREAS, he is a lifelong resident of Douglas County, a prominent local businessman, and was the highly respected chief law enforcement official, the Sheriff of Douglas County, from 1966 through 1973; and

WHEREAS, he served his country with honor and distinction during the Korean War and he has served as a volunteer fireman for over 20 years with the Douglas County Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, his dedication, ability, motivation, and industry as a member of the Board of County Commissioners of Douglas County has earned him the admiration of his peers and his leadership is highly effective and greatly valued.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body recognizes and commends Honorable Claude Abercrombie for his outstanding public service as a member of the Board of Commissioners of Douglas County and conveys to him its appreciation and respect.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Honorable Claude Abercrombie.
