A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Honey Clarke; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS, Honey Clarke is
well known to many citizens in Jonesboro, Georgia, where she has been an
involved community leader and was named one of The Eckerd 100 in the
company´s
Salute to Women program for the year 2000;
and
WHEREAS, she is the president of
Honey´s
Women and Children, Inc., a nonprofit organization where her very special talent
and humanitarian concerns have produced significant results and considerable
success; and
WHEREAS, the Eckerd Corporation
annually selects 100 local women to honor for their spirit of volunteerism and
this
year´s
honorees were chosen from more than 2,700 nominees across the country;
and
WHEREAS, it is most appropriate that the
achievements of this young woman who has strengthened her community and enriched
the lives of countless others be properly recognized and
endorsed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend
Honey Clarke for her community leadership and volunteerism and convey to her
their appreciation and admiration.
BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and
directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Honey
Clarke.
