A RESOLUTION
Expressing regret at the passing of Edward John
Mangham; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS, Edward John Mangham will
be long remembered by his broad circle of friends and associates in his
community and by the wonderful family he supported and loved;
and
WHEREAS, he was born in Spalding County
on July 14, 1933, to Arkie Miller and Eddie Mangham, and he received his early
education in the Spalding County school system and attended Morehouse College
before he was drafted to serve in the Korean Conflict, where he was trained as a
paratrooper; and
WHEREAS, due to injuries
sustained in the U.S. Army, he was medically discharged but was always proud of
his military service, and he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1964 from Albany
State College; and
WHEREAS, he became a
world traveler, residing in Mexico, the British Honduras, and Costa Rica for
many years, and became fluent in several languages, and he always enjoyed
meeting new acquaintances and entertaining others;
and
WHEREAS, he was a loving husband and an
understanding father to his children who have sought to honor him in their
lives' work and who will cherish his memory
forever.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body express regret at the
passing of Edward John Mangham and convey their sympathy to his family and our
colleague Honorable Randal Mangham.
BE IT
FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is
authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to
the family of Edward John Mangham.
